"NTPL" make AC High Voltage Test set is suitable for applied voltage test on Transformers, Motors, Insulators, and Generators of large size, Cables etc. for which the test parameters are within the technical scope of output of the test set. The set is capable of giving continuously variable High voltage from zero to 200 kV AC.

TECHNICAL Specification
  • Input: 415 Volts, ±10% AC, 3 Phase (Between two phase of  three phase system), 50Hz  ±5% AC.
  • Output: Continuously variable 0 to 200 KV AC of frequency same as AC mains input.
  • Capacity: 250mA.
  • Duty: Intermittent duty cycle, i.e., 15 mins. ON, 30 mins. OFF.
  • Accuracy: System accuracy for the high voltage test set will be within ±2% of reading  ±1KV.
Output voltage variation: By means of remote controlled motor driven arrangement as well as manual operation.

Rate of rise of motor operated voltage regulator to raise the output voltage: Set any value between 500V/s to 2500V/s by micro controller based circuit along with LCD display indication.

Over load Tripping adjustment at any value between 20% to 100% of the rated HT current.

Over Voltage Indication & Interlock Protection provided.

The above test kit will be in 4 units i.e.
  • Control & Measurement Unit.

  • Capacitive Potential Divider for measurement.
All the above units will be provided with wheels for easy movement.

Control & Measurement Unit
  • Power Mains ON – OFF operation is done by means of Switch –Fuse Unit with lamp indication.
  • Control ON-OFF switch along with lamp indication & fuse.
  • 'HT' ON-OFF pushes along with ‘HT ON’ lamp indication.
  • Isolation Transformer for control operation, auxiliary supply to meters & power supply for electronic circuit.
  • Increase/Decrease circuit to control motor operated Voltage Regulator. When high voltage circuit is switched ON the regulator will rotate to increase the output voltage when INCREASE/DECREASE switch is kept in 'INCREASE' position and 'INCREASE' push is pressed ON or decrease the output voltage when the 'INCREASE/ DECREASE' switch is kept in 'decrease' position.
  • Timer with variable time setting between 01 to 999 seconds for conducting a test will be provided. 'TIMER' ON-OFF provision will be provided. Buzzer will indicate the end of test and the voltage regulator will gradually & automatically decrease to reduce the voltage level to zero value and trip OFF the HT circuit.
  • Digital AC Voltmeter scaled in kV connected on HV side through Capacitive Potential Divider to measure the output voltage. Resolution: 0.1KV. Accuracy: ±2% of rdg ±0.1KV.
  • Digital AC Ammeter to measure output current along with 'Press to read mA' push button. Resolution: 1mA.
  • Automatic tripping mechanism for protecting the HV transformer against over loading. The tripping mechanism can be adjusted at different values as mentioned above. After tripping, High Voltage will be switched OFF. The regulator will return back to zero position.
  • Zero start interlocking will be provided to ensure that the HV circuit cannot be energised unless the regulator is initially kept or brought back to zero position.
  • Enclosure interlocking will be provided i.e. high voltage circuit cannot be energised unless the door of the enclosure is closed. However, this interlock can be by-passed by shorting corresponding terminals.
  • In case the output voltage crosses the maximum rated value a lamp & a buzzer will indicate over voltage and the increase mode circuit will not function further, even if ‘PRESS TO INCREASE’ push is pressed.

The whole control circuitry will be housed within a sheet metal cabinet treated with anti-corrosive prima and powder coated.

VOLTAGE    REGULATOR
  • Continuously variable voltage regulator of suitable capacity fitted with motor for control operation Suitable control circuitry will be provided to increase & decrease the test voltage. The regulator will be an oil natural cooled and provided with wheel.
  • Over voltage interlock protection i.e. the regulator will be switched out of circuit when the output voltage crosses the maximum limit of the rated output range.
  • However, the regulator can also be operated manually.
HV TRANSFORMER
  • HV Transformer used in the test set will be oil natural cooled type and of suitable capacity. One end of the high voltage winding will be connected to earth potential through a CT operated ammeter & protective device while the other end remains in floating condition as HV terminal. 
  • The transformer will be designed to withstand frequent intermittent spark over or short circuit conditions under which such testing transformers are designed to operate.
  • HT terminal will be provided with anti-corona metallic ring of adequate diameter to facilitate uniform charge distribution.

Capacitive Potential Divider for measurement of 200KV AC.
This will be a capacitive potential divider of nominal capacitance of 100 pF. The low voltage section of potential divider will be provided with LV connector for connection to read out unit. The divider will be complete with corona guard and earth potential terminals. The Potential divider will be fitted on mild steel structure provided with roller.

Accessories
  • In AC High Voltage test, after testing, the device under test is normally discharged through transformer winding. However for device under test having large capacitance a discharge rod may be used and hence it is provided with the set.
  • Interconnection cable, stress free HV connecters etc. will be provided along with the set.
